Papelera de Reciclaje

about my literary taste and work

This is my literary project. It is an excercise in which I test my ideas for stories and try to play with ideas and language. I’m currently mostly doing speculative fiction and science fiction whenever I sit down. I’m very interested in how our imagination about technology and the future is shaped by culture, for instance, latinamerican culture. I also do little literary essays that I tag as “non-essays”, since I once read a literary essay and I don’t think I can reach that level of beauty and such an interesting topic development.

3 works that define me:

  1. “Las ruinas circulares” by Jose Luis Borges
  2. “Profession” by Isaac Asimov
  3. “Insignia” by Julio Ramón Ribeyro

Sci-Fi works that I do think about a lot:

  1. “Los cuerpos del verano” by Martín Felipe Castagnet
  2. “Babel-17” by Samuel R. Delany
  3. “Cyborg Manifesto” by Donna Haraway
  4. “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” by Phillip K. Dick
  5. “Martian Chronicles” by Ray Bradbury

I’m not updating this page as regularly, since this should work as a presentation and that’s it. I would recommend to just visit my blog here.
